One Shot Gaming - Counter-Strike: Source Server


Varis 14 posts +9 votes Geek Squad Admin	Thanks to a bundle deal through our Teamspeak provider, we have recently acquired a Counter-Strike: Source 10-slot server. Server IP: 4.79.145.33:27015 The server is currently a public server with a ten-slot limit. It's running a number of Sourcemod scripts: RockTheVote(rtv) teambet damage report bottools (4 bots base, replaced by players as they join) Quakesounds If there is significant demand for it, we can add slots to the server, probably up to 16 slots. Admins have the ability to password protect the server for private clan games. If someone sets a password on the server, it will be in the Counter-Strike: Source channel description on teamspeak. I'll update the rest of this post with server commands as the need arises. C = chat command ~ = console command USER COMMANDS C - rtv - "rock the vote." Starts a map vote after a number of people type this command. C - rockthevote - see above C - nominate - Brings up a menu to nominate a map for rtv. C - bet <team> <amount> - Bet amount (either a number, "half," or "all") on team (T or CT) C - voteban - Brings up the voteban menu. (NYI) C - votekick - Brings up the votekick menu. (NYI) (regarding the above two - if you abuse this against clan members, Varis will punch you in the face. Please don't do it.) (looking for weapon and player stats mods) ADMIN COMMANDS ~ - sm_admin - brings up the basic admin menu. All you need for most situations. Please use some discretion when accessing this. C - !bottools - Opens the bottools menu. An admin needs to access the menu to enable bots every time the server is restarted. ~ - sm_headshotonly_enabled - toggles "headshot only" mode. Varis 14 posts +9 votes Geek Squad Admin	Varis's super awesome intro guide! There's a number of things you'll want to do if you're new to Counter-Strike: Source. First of all, there's a little tip to smooth out network activity, giving your shots sharper hit registration. First, go to your options, and hit "advanced" under the first tab and enable dev console (~) Second, once that is done, hit tilde (~) and type in the following commands: rate 30000 cl_cmdrate 100 cl_updaterate 100 (For the rate, MAKE SURE you type 30000. Make sure you get all the zeroes or you'll be throttling your own network speed and you'll never hit anything.) Then the next tip: The stock crosshair is terrible. Go to options, then go to multiplayer. Turn off "dynamic crosshair" along the left side. Apply that, and I'm going to recommend going into the console and typing this command: cl_crosshairsize 1 cl_crosshairusealpha 1 cl_crosshairalpha 99999 (or some other large number. Enough to make it visible in the brightness of, say, Dust.) After that, go ahead and customize your crosshair as you like. Lastly, go to options, then the Mouse tab. Make sure Mouse filter is off, Mouse acceleration is off, and turn on "Raw input" And actual lastly, if you ever decide you want to be serious about this game, you NEED to get a good headset.
